The Long Descent: Necromancer Chronicles. Four adventurers stand in a torchlit crypt while skeletons and the Necromancer loom behind them.

Your dead party will come looking for you.

A first-person party dungeon crawl for PC and Steam Deck.

The game

A real dungeon crawl you can play a minute at a time, sold honestly.

Lead a party of four down ten floors of the Necromancer's crypt. Map the halls, search the dark, fight skeletons and worse, and decide at every stairwell: go deeper for better loot, or climb home with what you found. Close the game in the middle of a fight and come back days later; it picks up on the exact turn.

What makes it different

Built for people with more taste than time

Play a minute at a time

Every step and every combat action is saved. When you come back, a short recap tells you where you were and what you were doing.

No one is lost for good

If the party falls, their bodies stay where they died. Send a rescue party from the tavern to bring them home.

Your dead may rise

The Necromancer raises fallen adventurers. Go back too late and you may face your own party, with their own gear and the spells you chose.

Fights that respect your time

Each hero starts the round with a sensible action. Confirm it in one press, repeat the last round, or let an easy fight resolve itself.

A classic party

Eight classes, from Fighter, Cleric, Mage and Rogue to Barbarian, Ranger, Paladin and Druid, built on the open fifth edition rules. Meet the heroes.

Sold honestly

One price. No energy, no timers, no lives, no microtransactions, no account. It works offline.

For the old guard

If you remember mapping a maze on graph paper

The Long Descent is made for players who grew up with the great first-person crawlers and still love a party, a grid and a dark corridor, but no longer have whole evenings to give them. Keyboard, mouse or controller, on a desk or on a Steam Deck.
